Your thirst for the Holy Grail will never stop, but here is your opportunity to score an incredible Les Paul to quench your desire for that classic Golden Era Gibson tone. This guitar literally vibrates with resonance, it is incredibly acoustic and just drips with vintage swag. You will find that this guitar feels, plays and sounds so good, that you will never want to put it down. The striking, vintage correct top and luscious faded honey burst finish will keep heads turning everywhere it goes. Everyone knows that old woods sound the best, and this beauty is about to turn 40. These guitars were made at at a time where acquiring properly aged and dried exotic tone woods were more abundant and readily available. You can see and feel the quality of everything from the mahogany body and one-piece neck, to the dark, luscious, chocolate colored rosewood fingerboard. It's no secret that Tim Shaw captured some Holy Grail magic is his attempt to recreate the original PAF. While not every little detail is vintage correct, the tone produced by these pickups leave nothing to be desired and sound warm, thick and articulate, with a certain MOJO that have made them highly sought after. This guitar sustains for days and has a resonance with a woody and vintage feel. Warm and articulate with plenty of bite. These pickups really stand out and have a crazy good sound overall.
Usually you see a lot of quilt tops and some weak flame. This one is a stunning, vintage correct flame top. It is an attention grabber that looks phenomenal from every angle. The Standard Series Heritage 80 guitars were one of Gibson's first attempts to re-create the Golden Era of Les Paul. The finish ages beautifully to a deep amber color, reminiscent of many original bursts. The Honeyburst finish over a lightly figured, flamed maple top is simply stunning. The first time was a charm, as it turned out to be a spectacular attempt of doing a proper reissue of the original 58-60 Les Paul Burst guitars.
Tim Shaw was given the task of designing the famous P.A.F pickups. His determination to recreate an exact copy of the P.A.F pickup drove him into investigating every intricate detail... how the coils were spun, which magnets they used, how many windings etc. Tim Shaw was very meticulous about the design of these pickups, and managed to produce a very close clone to the original. Often referred to as “Shawbuckers” or “TimBuckers” in the collectors society, they fetch a fair amount of money when they get sold on various sites and auctions.
The Heritage Series Standard 80, was not completely true to the Gibson 1959 Burst in a lot of ways. However, all guitars were made with no weight relief or tone chambers, and they are solid body guitars. There were 3 types of Gibson Les Paul Heritage Series Standard 80. This guitar is the Standard which features:
• One Piece Mahogany Body
• Beautiful Flametop with Tons of Character
• 3 piece Mahogany Neck w Chunky '59 Profile.
• Rosewood Fingerboard
• Trapeze Mother of Pearl Inlays
• Narrow Binding in the Cut Away.
• Grover Kidney Tuners.
• 2 Tim Shaw Designed Humbuckers
Cosmetically as you can see in the pics this guitar is in very good to excellent pre-owned condition. There is no repairs or modifications. It exhibits only moderate play wear including a few dings, scuffs and light scratches on the top and back. There is a finish crack in the cutaway, a small area of damage to the binding on the lower end of the fretboard, and some discoloration on the back of the headstock .. all of which just add to the mojo and vintage vibe.

Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy
We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:
- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.
- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.
We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.
We are a small business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.
