I am offering a Fender Custom Shop '68 DLX Closet Classic Stratocaster from 2024, a crafted in the Fender Custom Shop in Corona, California (USA), reissue model of a 1968 Vintage Stratocaster with a solid alder body (total weight 3.6 kg), bolt-on maple neck with 1969 “U”neck profile and 41.9mm bone nut, elegant maple fingerboard with 9.5" radius and 21 narrow tall frets, three hand-wound Fender Custom Shop HW 69 Strat underwound singlecoil pickups, high-quality Fender CS American Vintage synchronized tremolo bridge and Fender Schaller F-tuners in a beautifully aged aged vintage white nitro high-gloss finish with large CBS-era headstock in mint condition, including Fender Custom Shop G&G black Tolex hardshell case, all manufacturer's papers and professional setup with 10-gauge Elixir strings.

This detailed reissue of the '68 Stratocaster from the Fender Custom Shop is a tribute to the CBS era of the late 1960s, when the Strat underwent a number of exciting changes. From Jimi Hendrix to David Gilmour to Eric Clapton, the Stratocaster was played by some of the most influential guitarists of the 1960s, and this handcrafted Fender Custom Shop Closet Classic model from 2024 successfully captures the magic of the guitar from that era.

This '68 Strat combines period-correct specs with a solid alder body with excellent acoustic resonance, a one-piece maple neck (for the first time without a skunk stripe!) in a bolt-on construction, and a separate maple fingerboard. The guitar is authentically staged with the fine crackled aged vintage white finish and the enlarged headstock introduced in 1965 with the oversized Bolder Black logo decal on the headstock rounds off the overall look.

And as soon as you plug the instrument into an amp, you'll have to fight back a tear of joy: the three hand-wound Fender Custom Shop '69s Underwound CC singlecoil pickups produce the unmistakably wiry, warm, bell-like Strat sound that has shaped an entire generation of guitarists. From snotty and cheeky to hot and heavy, they provide the perfect foundation for classic blues and rock sounds without ever losing any of their dynamics.

This Strat is simply a joy to play: the pleasantly wide '69 “U” neck profile complements the 21 narrow tall frets perfectly and, with a 9.5" radius, offers a very comfortable playing feel.
