KRA Magnecorder Custom PT6-P

This PT6-P was stripped of its transformers and much of the wiring when I acquired it, and so I felt free to build my own design inside. This is my custom stereo tube mixing console.

the mixer has 3 transformer balanced xlr mic inputs with 1/4 DI inputs, each channel has a level control, high pass filter (push-pull volume pot), a pan control, an FX pre/post switch and send level control. The FX send has a master control. The left and right outputs have master volume controls. There is a line level input that is switchable between 1/4 ts, or trs, cables to accommodate mono or stereo FX returns.

Left and Right outputs available via transformer balanced XLR line level output, or 1/4 unbalanced cathode follower output.

There is also a built in monitor speaker housed in the same chassis as the power supply with its own level control and a switch for silent headphone monitoring. This monitor amp is fed from a rotary switch on the front panel that can select between Left, Right, or mono sum. There is also a switch for the VU meter to monitor either the left or right output.

External power supply provides DC heater voltage for extra quiet operation, and the whole thing folds up into a convenient carrying case.
