Here we have a late 70's Encore Jazz bass with everything in fine working order. The bass is a nice takeoff on a Fender bass style and is basically a lawsuit copy. Encore basses were made in Japan during the 60's-70's and competed with the American market with their copies (known as the lawsuit era). The Encore badge is hard to track as to what factory made them.
The electronics include a pair of Jazz pickups (they are original) with black covers, volume and tone controls, in fender style control plate. All of the electronics work as they should.
The neck is straight, I haven't needed to adjust with truss rod but I assume it works correctly. The action is medium low, fairly fat and comfortable neck. The rosewood fingerboard has 20 frets, block inlay, the scale measures 34" from nut to bridge. The neck is fairly thin measuring 1 5/8" at the nut and 2 3/8" at the pocket. This bass has the fender headstock with original chrome fender style Japanese tuners.
The body is in very nice shape, a few dings, some very light scratches and scuffs. There is no finish checking or buckle rash. The tortoise pick guard and the rosewood thumb rest are original and in nice shape.. The bass is nice and glossy with a gorgeous sunburst finish.
The bridge is original and adjustable. All chrome has some degree of pitting. She has faint remnants of her headstock logo, three chrome knobs are non-original. The ashtray bridge cover and pickup cover are original and pitted.
Labella round wounds will come detuned for shipping.
There is no case but will be shipped well packed.
