The presentation model is the peak of Taylor's high end acoustic guitar production. Beginning in 1996, each unique piece is defined by only the finest woods and craftsmanship. The smaller Grand Concert style body produces a clear top end and projection making it ideal for intricate picking, melodies, and strums. Currently the only PS12's Taylor makes are the PS12-e guitars with a cutaway and vastly different wood types, making this 1996 PS12 a rare piece of history.
The Taylor PS12 line was introduced in 1996 with only 26 guitars produced that year. This is the second PS12 Taylor ever made with its serial number dating it to January 24th, 1996. The solid Engelmann Spruce top sings with a warm rich mid-range and shimmering top-end perfect for fingerpicking or smooth strums. It's complimented by a beautiful cut of Brazilian Rosewood on the back and sides. Abalone pearl bindings and vine inlays are intricately placed down the headstock, fretboard, and bridge. The red purfling rather than abalone is an indicator of this rare 1996 year - as Taylor switched to abalone in 1997.
