Here we have a Deagan marimba with synthetic bars for sale. Overall, this fella is in good condition.
Cosmetically speaking, you can tell that it's old and has been used. The frames, rails, legs, etc., all show superficial signs of wear and tear, as do the bars. The bar cord is frayed in places, but still in overall good order. Probably the biggest issue are the post insulators, which are dried out and cracking. The last picture on this listing shows two of them, and most of them are in a similar condition. Some of the posts were also bent, but we gently tapped them back upright.
Now, according to our research, we believe that this is a Studio 612K marimba, made by Deagan around 1973-1975. These were the very first marimbas that Deagan made with synthetic bars, and on the bottom of one of the bars you can see "11 73" engraved. The serial number we found was of no help. We could be wrong, however, so if you know better than us, please feel free to share.
