NOTE: This LTD edition features the same woods and hardware as the ESP version. Later LTD models used generic hardware and lower-quality woods to differentiate them from the ESP.

This model has the original EMG pick ups James uses (81-60). The EMG JH pick ups with the metal cover were launched a year or two later, what’s special about this model (the 2009 version) is that it’s the rarest production of this series. Because it was made at the same time as the ESP series, this guitar also has the same specifications, the only difference is the headstock brand but it has the exact same hardware set up and woods as the ESP model (Sperzel locking tuners and TonePros locking tailpiece) whereas the later 2011 versions (the ones with the JH pick up set) carry generic hardware and lower quality woods. In the past, most LTD signature series models used to carry the same materials and set up as the ESP versions, the only difference was that the ESP ones were made in Japan and the LTDs in Korea, that had to change obviously to better justify one being cheaper than the other.
