The Eko Ranger VI was one of the models handmade by Eko in its Recanati factory, Italy. It was produced in significantly fewer numbers than this and other classic models, making it much harder to find and more desirable. In the 1960s, acoustic guitars were just a fraction of Eko's catalog. But after the end of its business relationship with Vox in 1968 and LoDuca in 1971 (which had commissioned Eko to manufacture some of its models), and with increasing Japanese competition in the market, Eko had to redistribute its commercial presence in Europe and focus on acoustic guitars. Thus, the Eko Ranger series emerged as the company's major commitment in the 1970s. Thus, the Ranger VI is considered the most successful European guitar in history.
