GRG150DXSIGN IN TO EDITGRG150DX Black Night (w/ FAT-10)
The GRG150DX, also known as the GRG150D, is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2008. It was made initially in Indonesia; for 2011 production was begun in China; Indonesian production ceased after 2012. It is part of the entry-level GIO line.
The GRG150DX features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and white sharktooth position markers. Components include Ibanez pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single coil and a synchronized tremolo bridge.
For 2013 the body material was changed to poplar and the frets were changed from medium to jumbo. For 2015 the pickups were changed from Powersounds to Infinity Rs. In mid-2017 a new fretboard material, treated New Zealand pine, replaced rosewood.[1] For 2018 a new T102 tremolo was offered in the Chinese market; this bridge replaced the FAT-10 in all markets for 2019. For 2021 the fretboard was reverted to rosewood, the body material returned to basswood and the FAT-10 tremolo was reintroduced.
The GRG150DX has been available in Japan since 2008. It was introduced for the US market as a new model in 2011. Since 2012 it's been available only in Australia, Canada and a handful of other small markets. Since 2018 it's been offered only in China.
The GRG150DXB is a similar model with black hardware and yellow pickguard and fretboard inlays. The GRG150LTD is a similar model with red fretboard inlays and pickguard. The GRG150P is a similar model with dot fretboard inlays. The GRG6SP1 is a very similar spot model.
The GRG150DX was discontinued after 2022.
