I am offering a Gretsch G6129T Players Edition Jet from 2019, a made in the Terada factory (Japan) high-end single cutaway solid-body model with a chambered mahogany body including arched maple top, set-in mahogany neck with standard “U” neck profile and 42.9mm TUSQ nut, bound rosewood fingerboard with Neo Classic thumbnail mother-of-pearl inlays, two hot-sounding Gretsch High Sensitive Filter'Tron humbuckers, tuning-stable Gotoh locking tuners, high-quality Gretsch Anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge and Bigsby B7CP string-thru vibrato tailpiece in a sparkling Red Sparkle high-gloss finish with radiant nickel hardware in mint condition, including a black Gretsch luxury hardshell case and professional setup with 10-gauge Elixir strings.
This single cutaway version of the classic Duo Jet design from the Gretsch Professional Line, made in Terada, Japan, is a hot evolution of the 1953 G6128T Duo Jet, which, thanks to its retro design and first-class rock'n'roll sound, is a welcome guest among numerous well-known guitarists, from Malcolm Young to Keith Richards and The Edge.
This 2019 Gretsch G6129T, typically made in Japan, features a traditional tonewood combination of a chambered mahogany body and a solid arched maple top. Together with the short 625mm scale length, the guitar feels perfectly balanced and offers excellent playability with the medium-width “U” neck profile in combination with the 42.9mm TUSQ nut.
The official set of two USA High Sensitive Filter'Tron humbuckers provides the classic, powerful and twangy Gretsch sound. These pickups deliver a warm and fat tone that still has plenty of bite and dynamic articulation even at higher gain settings. It's no wonder that the guitar feels incredibly at home in styles ranging from classic rock and rockabilly to blues and country. Thanks to the special electronics with two individual volume controls, a master volume control and the tone switch, a wide range of versatile sound options can be called up in no time at all in the familiar Gretsch manner.
A sound example of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.
The achnored Gretsch Adjusto-Matic bridge ensures clean intonation across all 22 medium jumbo frets, and Gotoh locking tuners provide excellent tuning stability – even when the Bigsby B7CP vibrato tailpiece is used.
