I bought a guitar exactly like this in 1988, and as those years had gone by, I eventually traded it off ... And like most of us, years go by and you begin to think of some of your old gear that you had gotten rid of (sigh) ... By some super rare chance I ran across another guitar just like it in Nevada (I even wondered if it was my old guitar) but it was in VERY VERY VERY sad and neglected condition (someone had even painted a custom skull pic on it, eck) ... I then took the guitar to a specialist (he used to restore top of the line classic cars before building guitars (Yank Tones) and he reworked his magic back into this guitar, stripping it completely apart (hardware) and then sub contracting out the paint using the exact Gibson Alpine white lacquer/ clear coat to an elite guitar painter, and then he provided the final assembly, providing wire shielding, rebuilding the tremolo system, and rebuilding/ replacing some of the lost locking tuner parts ... The guitar was restored to it's most high beauty !!!

I then hung it on the guitar racks in a controlled environment storage room at my house to properly cure ... I had left out of town for work and to my dismay when I had returned, I discovered the drying rack had come down leaving behind 3 chips in the freshly restored body (no chip can be seen from the front of the guitar), but it still broke my heart (sigh) ... There is also minor paint checking on the neck thru body connection as shown ... But it is a 36 year old guitar right?, so yes, patina ...

Originally these guitar came with the "Chainsaw" guitar case ( I never really liked mine because it always seemed so bulky), but this guitar came to me with no case so to go along with this freshly restored guitar I purchased the brand new Gibson black case, Oooo they look so good together ...

This guitar functions as it should, the EBONY fret board is very nice with low usage over the life of this 36 year old guitar ... This guitar has been completely gone through and is ready to rock ...

It is a VERY rare guitar indeed ...

A used Gibson "Les Paul Studio Lite Pro" has arrived. This one is from 1989.

After doing quite a bit of research, it appears that this model has been erased from Gibson’s history, with almost no information available.

It has an Ebony fret board, and the bridge is equipped with a Steinberger KB-X Tremolo, which is why this model is sometimes referred to as the Les Paul KBX. Since Steinberger had already been acquired by Gibson at the time, this addition isn’t too surprising—it really reflects the era.

The pickups may look like single coils, but they are actually stacked humbuckers, with a mini switch for coil tapping.

As expected from Steinberger, the tremolo system also features a locking function, allowing it to be fixed in place. This means it can also function as a bridge with fine tuners.

This is practically a historical artifact, so someone, please adopt and preserve it before it’s lost to time!
