This beautiful 5x13" segmented cherry/maple hybrid snare is the next auxiliary or main snare that you didn't know you needed. Segmented shells are similarly built like stave shells except the grain is horizontal instead of vertical. This gives the shell the look of a what most drummers describe as the butcher block look. The purpose of this design is the shell has a considerable amount of less glue than your traditional plied shell, giving it a much more organic sound allowing the shell to resonate more naturally. It also has more glue than steam bent and plied shells giving it more strength and durability.
This 8 lug 13' drum is out fitted in all chrome hardware. It has tube lugs, 2.33 hoops, S-12 (piston driven) throw off, Evans drum heads, and Pure Sound wires. The bearing edges are cut as double 45 degrees and the snare beds are hand cut for precision that is unmatched by machinery.
Cherry is best described as a bright sound characteristic with a Janka hardness of 950
Maple is best described as a warm sound characteristic with a Janka hardness of 1450
With the beautiful combination of bright and warm the drum is very wet sounding giving lots of resonation for its size. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out anytime.
