Seymour Duncan Screamin' Demon Humbucker Pickup - Alnico 5 Magnet | No Limit Guitar Co, Idaho Falls Introduction

The Seymour Duncan Screamin' Demon is a medium output humbucker pickup that delivers the articulate airiness of vintage P.A.F. pickups with enhanced growl and sizzle. This versatile humbucker offers a big, open tone with pronounced treble response that maintains clarity and definition even with high gain settings. Ideal for intermediate to professional players seeking a pickup that balances vintage character with modern performance.

Product Overview

The Screamin' Demon features meticulously designed overwound coils paired with an alnico 5 bar magnet for exceptional tonal balance. Its innovative construction includes a unique mix of pole pieces with one row of standard adjustable screws and one row of shorter Allen head screws, contributing to its distinctive voice and dynamic response.

Performance-wise, this pickup delivers a balanced output with remarkable articulation across all frequencies. The 10k resistance provides enough muscle to drive your amp into rich distortion territory while preserving pick attack definition and string-to-string clarity. Notes bloom with harmonic complexity, giving chords depth and single notes a commanding presence.

These pickups are hand built in Santa Barbara, California, with premium components including a nickel silver bottom plate and 4-conductor lead wire that allows for multiple wiring configurations. Each pickup is vacuum wax potted to eliminate unwanted microphonic feedback during high-volume performance.

Ideal For

• Rock and metal guitarists seeking articulate high-gain tones without muddiness
• Blues players looking for a pickup that responds dynamically to picking intensity
• Recording artists who need pristine string definition in complex mix environments
• Guitarists transitioning from vintage to modern tones without sacrificing character
• Players building versatile instruments that can handle multiple genres with one guitar

Key Features Specialized Pole Piece Configuration

The Screamin' Demon's combination of standard adjustable screws and shorter Allen head screws creates a unique magnetic field that contributes to its characteristic voice. This configuration enhances pick attack definition while maintaining a full-bodied low end.

Alnico 5 Bar Magnet

The alnico 5 bar magnet provides the perfect balance of warmth and attack, delivering tight bass response, focused midrange, and airy treble extension. This carefully selected magnet is crucial to the pickup's ability to maintain clarity at all gain levels.

Precision Hand-Wound Coils

Slightly overwound coils give the Screamin' Demon its 10k ohm resistance, hitting the sweet spot where the pickup drives your amp with authority while remaining responsive to playing dynamics and volume knob adjustments.

Versatile Positioning Options

Originally designed as a bridge pickup, the Screamin' Demon excels in neck positions when paired with higher output bridge pickups. This versatility makes it an exceptional choice for guitarists who need flexibility in their pickup configurations.

Multiple Wiring Options

The 4-conductor lead wire allows for series, parallel, and split-coil wiring configurations, giving players access to a wide palette of tones from one pickup. From full humbucking richness to single-coil-like clarity, the Screamin' Demon adapts to your tonal needs.
