Reduced for your consideration.
Got time for a quick story? Cuz this guitar is available with a lot of pickup options, so the price depends on which option you choose. I bought a fancy Gibby LP back in the day, and didn't want to scratch it (I didn't know anything in 2003) so I bought this for more daily use. These quilt tops were seen a lot back then, but are rare and only on more expensive guitars now. I put in Gibson Burstbucker Pros, to more closely replicate the Gibson Les Paul. sound. In the process, I realized that all the Epi internals were garbage. So it has new switches, wiring, pots, and the body cavities are shielded with copper tape, so it's nice and quiet now, and more important, it's super reliable. I replaced the terrible knobs with nice speed knobs, and removed the plastic switch plate. I've also used it to test various pickups that I've wound, and the main pick shows my favorite option for this guitar, the P-90 neck (7.2 ohm) and zebra bridge (9.1). These are MojoTone kits, and sound FANTASTIC.
Two small issues that I've photographed, so please look and take note: Small solder iron burn on the back near the control cavity. My bad. And the top had a small chip when SOMEONE replaced a tone pot, and chipped the top. Ok, me too. That I painted with yellow nail polish, and it's covered by the speed knob, so you don't see it without really searching.
So this guitar is available with several options:
As it's set up now, with the Mojo pickups price is $400. ( I'll include the original neck pickup ring, which won't fit over the P-90. If I have time and you ask nice I'll make a wood pickup ring), and the original Epi bridge pup. I lost the neck, but will include a good sounding pup from a Yamaha electric I have.)
$325 with the Epi Bridge and Yamaha Neck
$500 with the Epi and Yama pickups and the Burstbuckers.
Thanks so much for reading all this, and considering my guitar. It plays great. The neck is a little thicker than current production, but super smooth. Will consider trades for luthier tools.
Hit me up with any questions.
Be Cool,
Doug
