This is for a 2008 Pre Owned Dennis Overton Acoustic Handmade HD-28 Vintage Pre War Style Guitar. It has Beautiful Old Growth Solid Brazilian Rosewood Back and Sides. The Headstock Overlay is Also Brazilian. The Top is Old Western Cedar that the Was Harvested over 30 Years ago and Gives this Guitar amazingly Warm Tone. The Scalloped Forward X Bracing is Adirondack Spruce Hand Carved to Pre War Specs. It has a Honduran Mahogany Neck that has Nice Figure in it. It has a 1 3/4 Nut and the Neck is More of a Medium Shape, It is not Overly Big. It is not a Small Neck but it Feels More like a Martin Neck from the Newer Era with Just a Little Thicker Profile which Really Helps Playability. It has A Beautiful Bone Nut and Hand Carved Saddle that has Room For Adjustment. This Guitar Does Have a Truss Rod which in todays Changing Climate is a Good Thing. The Playability is Perfect with Elixir Light/Medium (Bluegrass Set) with Nice Low Action. Another Departure from Typical Pre War Style Guitars is Dennis Did Not Use a Wood Filler before He Clear Coated it. This Really Helps in Tone and Letting the Wood Breathe. The Finish Is still Nice and Smooth you just can see More Grain and it is Worth the small Trade off for the Tone Difference Made. This was the 30th Guitar and Dennis is a Understudy of John Arnold who has Built Guitars for Doc Watson among others and is one of the Top Tone Wood Experts In the Country. This Guitar has A Very Nice Build Quality and is Very Similar to the Early Merrill Guitars I have Played from the Same Era. It has hard to Buy a Guitar that is This Well Made with The Type of Wood that it has without spending a lot of money. This Guitar is Going to Make someone Really Happy for the Price. It ships in a Nice Humi Case Hardcase which is a Really Nice Road Style Case that only weighs 8 Pounds. The Guitar has not Been Played much until I got it and I have played it a good bit since I have had it. It is hard not to. It does have a Few Clear Coat Dings on the Front but nothing Major.
