The SHRED circuit is based on the 250 overdrive/distortion pedal, a favorite of shredders, particularly Neoclassical metal artists such as Yngwie Malmsteen and others. The 250 is characterized by its transparent tone with relatively flat mids, rich harmonics and wide range of gain levels from boost to overdrive to distortion. This PCB targets the much sought-after 'grey spec' version of the late 70's, although non-tone affecting modern appointments have been made, including a polarity protection diode, status LED and true-bypas switching.
