Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul 1957 Reissue / R7 - Candy Apple Red

Rare Gibson Custom Shop Historic Les Paul from 2008, finished in Candy Apple Red over a dark back.

This is a 1957 Reissue / R7-style Custom Shop build with all the visible Historic-spec features:

- Long neck tenon visible in the neck pickup cavity

- R7 marking visible in the control cavity

- Burstbucker pickups

- Neck and Bridge marked BB1, Wound by PS, dated 01/08/08

- Factory no-pickguard top - no pickguard mounting holes

- Dark back finish

- Weight approximately 4.0 kg

I have been in contact with Gibson regarding the guitar and finish. Gibson performed an archive search and also consulted the Custom Shop. Their archive reference for this type of guitar was connected to the internal LP Sparkle designation, which they explained was likely used as an administrative category for metallic/special-finish Les Paul Standards and Customs.

Gibson could not locate a formal spec sheet or production totals for this particular model, which is why they are unable to issue a Letter/Certificate of Authenticity. Supporting Gibson correspondence can be shared with serious buyers.

A consecutive matching example, serial number 78441, was previously sold by GuitarPoint Germany as a 2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard 57 Reissue in Candy Apple Red. This guitar is serial number 78442.

Condition is very good with light signs of use. No known repairs, breaks or structural issues.

Includes a high-quality SKB hard case. Original Gibson case and COA are not included.
