Beautiful 1977 Ibanez Artist 2618, made in Japan (FujiGen). To my knowledge the finish is called “Antique Violin”. Double cutaway mahogany body with a bound carved maple top. Lovely thin maple neck with a bound 24 fret ebony board. Abalone dot inlays, Super 80 “Flying Fingers” humbuckers, Gibraltar tailpiece. Fantastic guitar - only selling as I find myself playing my acoustic more and this one deserves better than to sit in a case all the time!

As a 48 year old guitar, it’s got a few dings here and there. I’ve tried to photograph the main ones, which include some dings on the left side of the body, general wear on the back and a ding on the right corner of the headstock that has taken away a bit of the binding. It also appears that the ebony board had some wear in the first few frets that was filled in and then painted over. However none of these things impact the functionality or playability of the instrument at all and are barely even noticeable from a few feet away. The binding is yellowed and the finish has dulled quite nicely. The hardware also has a general patina to it with the gold fading in areas. The frets have been levelled quite low but still work fine and are in good working order. All the electronics work perfectly and to my ear this thing sounds like a Les Paul but with a bit of added brightness and power.
