This guitar is a Tokai LS made in Japan.

The serial number is 5 at the beginning, so it was made in 1985. The warranty card from when it was purchased new that comes with it states that it was purchased in 1988.

Overall, it remains in beautiful condition and is easy to play.

It has been refretted and the fingerboard repaired, which is evident when you see it. Some of the frets appear to be floating a bit, but no problems are evident; the sixth string is generally in good condition, although there is a slight string touching the frets if the string height is set too low.

The bridge saddle has been replaced. Many bridge saddles of this age are deformed and many used guitars do not conform to the roundness of the fingerboard, but this guitar has no problems.

Truss Rod: OK

Neck Warp Tendency: OK

Fret Height: Jumbo, about 70% in the low spots

Fret Dents: None

Fret Floating: Some frets seem to be floating, but it does not affect the performance.

Refret History: Replaced

Position markings: None.

Fingerboard condition: Glossy in one area, probably due to fingerboard rubbing.

Nut: Original, but has been re-glued. There is a part of the paint near the nut, and the paint is a little cracked, but it is not bothersome.

Binding: OK.

Finish: There is a white tarnish on the head top. There are some dents on the back of the neck and in places, but the finish is beautiful.

Cracks: See nut section.

Neck break: None.

Body

Binding: OK

Finish: Black coloring on the dents. Some polish marks are visible, but the overall appearance is beautiful.

Dents: A few.

Discoloration: I don't think so.

Printing in cavity: None.

Electrical system

Pickup: I think it is genuine, but I am not sure.

Pot: Genuine, OK.

Wiring material: OK

Capacitor: OK

Pickup selector: OK

Output Jacks: OK

Parts

Pegs: DELUXE, OK

Bridge Saddle: Replaced with GOTOH GE104BC.

Tailpiece: Aluminum lightweight tailpiece with “MADE IN JAPAN” label.

Screws: Pickup mounting ring screws have a little deformation on the positive groove. However, it can be used without any problem.

Truss rod cover: Probably replaced.

Strap pin: The upper side is fixed firmly in place, although the mounting angle is a little skewed. On the bottom side, there is a crack in the paint around the pin. No problem.

Pickguard: OK.

Case: Old soft case is included.
