The 797 Audio "U95S" is a multipattern tube condenser microphone. It is the company's model CR998, with exterior metalwork designed to mimic the Soundelux U95S.
The published specs for the 797 Audio U95S nearly match those of the company's CR998, also a multipattern tube condenser. Both mics are specified with a 6072 tube, a dual-diaphragm 6-micron K67-style capsule, and a transformer-coupled output circuit. These components are all of Chinese origin. The amplifier circuits and transformers in the 797 U95S and CR998 are identical, according to 797 Audio.
