Taylor Academy 22e  Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Walnut Top

Ever since Bob Taylor described walnut as "rosewood on steroids," we’ve known this wood brings a serious punch to the party. The Taylor Academy 22e is a masterclass in accessible design, utilizing a solid walnut top paired with layered walnut back and sides to create a sound that is focused and rich in fundamentals. Unlike some darker tonewoods that can get muddy, this walnut setup provides a "rosewood-like" overtone structure but maintains a stronger midrange and bright, clear highs. It is the kind of guitar that sounds "beefy" and full-bodied, yet remains incredibly articulate—perfect for the budding singer-songwriter or the seasoned couch picker alike.

The Grand Concert body shape is naturally compact, but don't let the size fool you; this guitar projects with surprising authority. One of the coolest features of the Academy Series is the built-in armrest, a luxury usually reserved for high-end custom builds, which softens the edge of the lower bout for hours of comfortable playing. Whether you are practicing unplugged or utilizing the ES-B electronics to hit the stage, the Academy 22e delivers a "chimey" and articulate tone that holds its own in any mix. Famous Taylor players like Jason Mraz and Taylor Swift started their journeys on the playability of a Taylor neck, and this model brings that same legendary ease of use to your hands.
