ONE (1) RCA GE etc. 5R4GYA or 5R4GYB brown base Balanced Rectifier Vintage Vacuum Tube AT1000 tNOS tested 1955-1965

This listing is for ONE full-wave rectifier vacuum tube in the straight-wall tube shape (sized just like a 5U4GB). It has a brown micanol base, black plates, and one side or top getter.  We have various vintage USA brands, presently GE, Sylvania, Westinghouse, and RCA.  Some stock is marked with OEM of Hewlett Packard. Your tube has been fully tested on an Amplitrex AT1000 with like new, tNOS results. Here's what that means: to qualify for this listing, the forward voltage in the two sections must be balanced within 10% of each other, and that voltage must be between 31 and 37 Volts for both sections. Unbalanced and used-testing tubes are available in a separate listing at a significant discount.

Some kids, seeking the perfect amount of sag, use the 5R4 in the place of a 5U4 although the heater current of 5R4 is less. This tube is also compatible with amps designed around the 5Y3 but this tube, due to its larger plate size, has a greater power handling than the 5Y3.  Of course, we always recommend using the tube that your amp was designed for.

The Amplitrex tests for gas, shorts, and leakage as well. The tube you receive is guaranteed against failure for 60 days after purchase.
