Hohner Clavinet DUO (E7 AND Pianet T in same box!) <> truly UNIQUE!!

Marketed by Klassic Keys GB (Ashby-de-la-Zouch, England).

This unique instrument is basically a Clavinet E7 AND a Pianet T in the SAME CASE! Correct me if I am wrong, but is there any other electro-mechanical device that physically triggers TWO instruments on every key stroke?  The twin sounds can be (1) solo (2) layered or (3) split (eg Pianet bass + E7 treble). There are separate audio outs, or straightforward mix. The Clavinet has standard E7 p/up select controls (for tonal variations), and has the mechanical mute device for "staccato-funk". The whole DUO is not even mains powered. A single PP3 (9v) is all that is required, but there is a d.c. input, which is never used.......
The Hohner R & D herren deserve an award for this stroke of genius, IMHO. The cleverest keyboard of its genre, for sure......Made in Germany (1970s).
This particular keyboard was sourced from Scotland , and is now repaired/restored to top pro standard, as most KKGB instruments are (this work/parts cost £650!). Most Clavinets and Pianets require careful maintenance to ensure best performance. The keys require maintenance to ensure that they do not "stick/jam" and spring back quickly. The hammer tips need to be correctly aligned, the "sticky" pads have to perfectly positioned, and the strings, damping material and voicing/tuning really have to be "up to the job"......really not to be left to enthusiastic amateurs, trust me...... This Klassic Keys GB DUO is waiting for studio/recording funky monkey music......reggae or not.... KKGB are throwing in an Artec SE-VPH phaser pedal to add some phunky phaze....

Proper studios will always have THE BIG FOUR "de rigeur" instruments viz Wurlitzer EP200 (or 140B), a Rhodes Stage 54/73/88, a Hammond B3/C3 + Leslie and a Clavinet......though most of today's studios do not even have a drum kit. One large screen, sets of studio monitors, one vocal mic, one nameless "dumb" keyboard and a few guitars......everything else is sampled and  tucked away inside some computer. Its all wonderfully convenient, but (to me) just totally sterile and uninspiring.....thats progress? Lets have a jam, guys!?........guys?......hello?......
