Maplin Mixing Console (1980) - Black

Vintage analog console from early 80s with hardcase.

Maplin was a popular and innovative DIY electronics projects company in the 80s. Best known for their Maplin 5600 and 3800 synthesiser

Bought a while ago with the intention of stripping the components and setting them up as individual mic pres for some colour. Haven’t been able to do so due to some health issues so it’s just been sitting in the studio in its case.

I’ve taken it out of its case and ran some signals through it, the meters and led are flicking so looks like it’s in working order. But I haven’t carried out any extensive tests so I’m not sure how well.

I’ve taken a look inside and circuits and components look good. Please see pictures above.

This would make for an excellent vintage console or a great restoration/stripping project.
