About this listing
I bought this Behringer preamp in May of 2007 from musicians friend. The date code on the bottom shows that it was manufactured in October of 2006. It is fully functional and in excellent condition. You are buying the preamp and power supply in its original box with all of the original documentation. This is an interesting tool, used primarily in recording, employing a single 12AX7 vacuum tube in the preamp to provide the warmth and color of tubes to vocals or instruments. In addition it has an on-board switchable 48 VDC power supply to power condenser microphones. I used this with condenser microphones for recording vocals, but it has settings for acoustic instruments, electric guitars/basses, drums, and keyboards. There is one input phone jack primarily for instruments and one input XLR jack for microphones, of which only one can be used at a time. The outputs are configured the same, but you can use both of these simultaneously. Modes (sound shaping/coloration) are selected by a rotary knob, and two other knobs control input gain and output level. The design includes a low cut filter, phase inversion, and a 20 dB attenuator for higher level input signals. There is a lot packed into this little box.
