This is a Custom Shop custom-built model.
It belongs to the category of custom builds, also known as team-built customs, which range from fully custom-made, one-of-a-kind instruments to semi-custom options that allow changes to colors, parts, neck shapes, and more. Instruments ordered by music stores are generally referred to as custom builds.

This model was built in 2018 after the legendary Senior Master Builder C.W. Fleming returned as the director (chief production officer).
The assembly was done by the now-renowned Master Builder Vincent Van Trigt, before he officially earned his Master Builder title.

It is based on a Jazz Bass model originally manufactured in 1975.
The basses from this era feature several differences compared to earlier models. This particular model has a two-piece ash body construction with a relic finish.
It offers a well-balanced tonal character, and the relic work is tastefully done, exuding a fantastic vintage vibe. Its tone is characterized by brightness and quick attack.

The pickups consist of two hand-wound Custom Shop single-coil pickups, each with its own volume control. These pickups provide a wide range of tones, suitable for various playing styles such as fingerstyle and slapping.
