This super rare Charvel Custom Shop Jake E. Lee White Pearl was produced as the first edition from 2014-2017.
The Custom Shop logo was not yet attached to the head stock, although it was already produced in the Custom Shop at that time.
A few guitar enthusiasts and JEL fans asked about the certificate, here is the answer.
The second series was produced from 2017-2019 - this time with the Custom Shop logo on the head stock. And then another year or two after, they finally included a certificate.
Today all US JEL come with a certificate.
I wrote to Fender about this guitar, and Fender (owner of Charvel Guitars) confirmed the authenticity of this wonderful instrument. They also confirmed that the First Edition did NOT come with a certificate.
Here is an excerpt from the email from Fender:
"... I completely understand your disappointment, especially considering the value of the instrument, though unfortunately we are not able to reprint a COA for an instrument which did not originally include one."
Of course, I can forward the email to the buyer as confirmation.
