I am offering a Ricardo Sanchis Carpio III AM from 1999, a handcrafted in the legendary workshop of Ricardo Sanchis Carpio in Valencia, Spain, all solid timber classical guitar with fine-grained cedar top, back and sides made of dark rosewood, ebony-reinforced cedar neck, premium ebony fingerboard with 52mm bone nut, wild-grained rosewood bridge with bone inlay, high-quality gold tuners with pearl knobs and hand-carved cedar headstock with rosewood veneer in a radiant natural high-gloss finish, in excellent condition incl. brown Yamaha vintage luxury hardshell case and professional setup with Savarez 500ARJ strings.
This is a classical guitar from the late 1990s, made by the famous Valencian master workshop of Ricardo Sanchis Carpio. The traditional Spanish workshop was founded more than 100 years ago by Ricardo Sanchis Nacher in 1915 and is now run by the fourth generation, David and Germán, assisted by their father, Ricardo Sanchis Carpio. The knowledge of how to build guitars has been passed down from generation to generation and the instruments have been constantly developed to meet even the most demanding requirements. Guitarras Hermanos Sanchis Lopez is now one of the most renowned manufacturers of Spanish concert and flamenco guitars, played by guitarists such as Carlos Piñana and Rafael Cortés.
In 1999, the workshop was still run by Ricardo Sanchis Carpio, who learned the art of guitar making from his grandfather, as his father died young. He acquired his craftsmanship in one of the most important eras, the 1950s, and was in contact with many famous guitar builders from Madrid. To this day, R. S. Carpio is still in the workshop every day, working on his own guitars and supporting his sons in their work.
This 3 AM has a resonant, solid cedar top and sides/back made of solid rosewood with a strong grain, giving it an incredibly rich sound with a wide frequency range and excellent response. Crystalline trebles, full of overtones, and loud, powerful basses allow for beautiful harmonies with exceptional sound projection and great dynamics.
A small sound sample of the model can be found at the top of the photo gallery.
The cedar neck, which is reinforced with ebony, is covered with a fine ebony fingerboard and, together with the 52mm wide bone saddle, enables smooth playability.
