The Son of Thor is a Marshall that never was.  It has the traditional Triode Tremolo channel, but a small signal pentode runs the second channel.  In the usual 18 watt design, the parallel triode second channel gives you more gain, but not a large difference in the tones available.  Instead, this amp has a NOS 5879 small signal pentode driving the second channel allowing for more sonic variety and gain.

Both channels have volume and very well-designed musical tone controls.  Adding to the versatility of the pentode and triode channels, the amp has Power Scaling that safely dials down the voltage on the tubes allowing for high drive tones at lower volumes.  You can bring the scream down to a whisper while maintaining the tone.

One input is for the Triode Tremolo channel only.  The second input allow both the Pentode channel and the Triode channel to be mixed.Because the channels have different gain staging, the two channels are out of phase.  This might sound like a bad idea, but instead, it allows for a tremendous variety of unique and musical tones from the blend.  Turn on the gorgeous bias tremolo while mixing and you can find settings that get that elusive harmonic tremolo type sound.
