A new take on an old favorite
The Les Paul™ Standard 50s Mahogany Top retains the classic design that made it relevant, played and loved, shaping sound across generations and genres of music. It pays homage to Gibson’s golden age of innovation and brings authenticity back to life. The Les Paul Standard 50s Mahogany Top has a solid mahogany body with a mahogany top replacing the usual maple top. This is similar to some Les Paul Customs, many of which also feature all-mahogany bodies, and it results in a slightly warmer, more midrange-driven tone. Everything you love about the Les Paul Standard 50s remains the same, including the Vintage 50s rounded-profile mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays. It also features an ABR-1, classic-style Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons and black Top Hat knobs. The Burstbucker™ 1 (neck) and Burstbucker™ 2 (bridge) pickups feature Alnico 2 magnets and are wired to Audio Taper pots and Orange Drop™ capacitors. A hardshell case completes the package.
