What’s better than a classic? Taking the base and making it better, of course, and the 1689 does just that (depending on who you ask, of course). The 1689 takes the best of the Ibanez Tube Screamer and crams it full of improvements. It features an internal voltage doubler for huge headroom, clean blend (Which also makes it awesome for bass), and switchable clipping between symmetrical (down) and asymmetrical (up). Country, jazz, blues, rock, and metal players will find this useful and even indispensable.
