from a review from Agufish.wordpress.com:
Quite simply, this is a clone of the famous Electro-Harmonix Big Muff in a mini-pedal form factor. How cool is that?
Out of all the Donner pedals I’ve demoed so far, in my opinion, this one looks the coolest. I love the color of the teal finish on the solid aluminum enclosure, and while I’m not sure what the gear artwork has to do with being a fuzz pedal, but I also really like the design.
In typical Donner fashion, the controls are included on a need-only basis. There are two smaller knobs for Volume and Fuzz and a large knob for “Bustain” which I can only assume is a typo for Sustain.
The big issue for me with this pedal is that I found it incredibly difficult to use without an overdrive pedal behind it. Especially on a distorted channel, the pedal gets too fuzzy and starts to sound muffled. An overdrive pedal, like the Maxon OD808X I used in the demo, lets the Stylish Fuzz do its thing whilst restoring definition and note clarity.
In the end, mid-scooped fuzzes aren’t my favorite by themselves, but a lot of guitarists seem to dig them. While the Stylish Fuzz won’t be taking a permanent place on my pedalboard, I still have to admit it’s a fantastic value buy for musicians looking for that kind of tone. But if you’ve seen any other of my Donner demos, are you really surprised?
This pedal is in Very Good condition, showing signs of light-to-moderate use and careful storage. There are minor scratches on the enclosure. This pedal has been tested and functions as intended.
