ATELIER Z is a long-established Japanese brand that produces many masterpieces with its own unique stance, such as developing instruments in collaboration with bassists active at the forefront, setting up to meet the strict needs of professional bassists, and adopting active circuits that are useful on the spot. This is a high-quality passive bass that Atelier Z proudly releases, equipped with the world’s first biotechnology part ‘Zymo Aged’, which reproduces vintage tones by obtaining a sound aging effect.

Based on the classic 60’s JB bass style model ‘MVT#604’, the aforementioned sound aging parts have been adopted to create a bass with a rich resonance, a tone full of overtones, and an extremely smooth attack, which is the best feature of passive basses. The rounded, mature nuances can be felt from the moment you pick it up, and it produces a sweet sound with a pleasant bounce. You can enjoy the firm tone in the mid-range that is unique to the alder body, and the glossy high range with a more refined tone. This model is based on the traditional JB model with an alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, and is fretless with a coated fingerboard. The appearance without the pickguard, the fretless bass with metal knobs is the very famous bass. The pickguard is available as an accessory and can be attached or removed according to your preference. (Installation screws included. Screw holes must be processed.)

One of the major features of this model is that it has excellent playability that gives you a sense of security not only when playing the brand’s specialty slapping, but also when playing with your fingers, thanks to the low action setting unique to Atelier Z. It produces a rich sound without causing stress to the player. In addition, the position marks on the side of the fingerboard are installed on the fret line, and the attention to detail is unique to Atelier Z Studio. Although it is simple, you can enjoy the sound and playability that is unique to a bass brand. Please enjoy this high-quality fretless made by a high-quality workshop.

Zymo Aged
A unique manufacturing method based on biotechnology produces special bacteria that ferment metal and promote aging as if it had been played for many years. This is the world’s first organic sound aging part that creates a sound and tone that feels like an old guitar by adding an invisible random and natural fermentation process (aging) to metal parts such as bridges and springs.
‘Zymo Aged’ creates a vintage tone with a realistic aging that does not look like the relic or aged finishes that have been used up to now.
