Hofner 176 Brocade Vinyl 1960s w original Case.

Hofner made some fine instruments in the 60s and this guitar was definitely one. The rock scene emerged from Europe and Hofner answered the call.

The visual appeal of the vinyl covering with the red pickguard and matching headstock not only make this a stunner but screams pick me up and play this thing. And what a thing this guitar does. The killer whammy setup and 3 pickup mini humbuckers give many possibilities for tonal bliss or destruction.

There are a couple of things done to this guitar. They are: Bridge PU rewound, pickguard was cracked and repaired, and a bone nut added. Everything else is original. The treble O bass pot has 2 settings(treble side) that seem to do nothing, probably old worn caps , I left these in ( bass side works good) - all other switches etc. working great.

A fantastic guitar - the older painted neck 176s have that special sauce. Great for all types of music. Garage rock to country to blues to jazz this guitar can do the job.

This also comes with this really fine original case. The case needs some restoration but is a fabulous artifact from a gigging band in Germany in the 60s - very nice! Could definitely be fully restored with not too much work.
