Madlad Instruments 3K Twill Carbon Fiber Precision Bass PBass pickguard (made with pride in north Texas)

Accept no imitations! In a world where people put stickers and wraps to make stuff look like carbon fiber, wouldn't you prefer having the real thing? You know, the stuff they put ON ROCKETS AND F1 CARS?!?

Here's some high points about this nifty pickguard:

• 1.0mm 3K twill pattern carbon fiber pickguard that weighs in at a RIDICULOUSLY LIGHT 2.2 oz.
• Standard mounting-hole locations
• Super shiny finish! Almost as bright as your future!
• Back can be copper shielded for no extra charge and comes standard! Carbon fiber is mainly comprised of graphite so it has some small conductive properties. Copper shielding protects against this as well as unwanted interference. You also get a free dad joke written on the back too! :)
• This pickguard is made of 3K tow carbon fiber - meaning each of those little strands you see is comprised of 3,000 microscopic strands of carbon
• The fiber arrangement is a twill pattern which uses an interlocking "weave" fiber arrangement which gives the part extreme strength against tensile forces, sheering, and deformation. Said another way carbon fiber bends but does not snap - and will typically find it's way back to its original shape. Naturally Madlad instruments does not recommend testing the catastrophic failure point of your pickguard 😂

Naturally the tricky part about working with carbon composites is that carbon fiber isn't the most recyclable material in the world. Not wanting to be bad ecological stewards we're looking into ways to capture carbon dust that we machine and turning it into other products so it doesn't make it's way into a landfill or the water table.

While we're working on that we also contribute a portion of each pickguard purchase to conservation efforts so we can leave the world in a better place than we found it.
