Rare Vintage Echo-Uke Hawaiian Koa Soprano Ukulele
I am selling a rare Hawaiian-made all koa Echo-Uke soprano ukulele that dates back to the 1920’s.
Like virtually all of the Echo-Ukes that have survived into the 21st century, this one is missing the two thin metal prongs that were attached to the underside of the soundboard which resonated when the ukulele was played. This gimmick created a reverberating effect similar to an echo.
Echo-ukes were known to have deeper bodies than most other ukuleles from the same era giving them a fuller, richer sound.
This beautiful and rare Hawaiian-made koa soprano ukulele has a repaired crack on the front and the usual dings and boo-boos you would expect to find on an instrument this old. The action is a tad high and the bridge doesn’t appear to be original. It comes with a period case that is in poor condition.
Newly strung with Oasis fluorocarbon strings.
There’s plenty of information about the Echo-Uke online, so please research this ukulele carefully before buying, consider the flaws noted and pictured.
Note: We only ship to the contiguous 48 states.
