Really nice gold strat project I did in 2024, I think.
Only thing original to the guitar is the wood and frets.
Solid alder body.
Reshaped the arm contour so it's more like a USA Fender.
Got rid of the sharp factory bevel cut.
Refinished in antique satin gold nitro.
Pool routed and fully copper shielded.
Bootstrap Golden Ale alnico 2 pickup set.
Very vintage sounding to med hot at the bridge.
CTS pots with a push/push tone pot for 7 pickup combinations.
Instant tele or all 3 on.
M and B pickups also now share the tone control.
001 treble bleed and .022 ceramic tone cap.
Tones are now useful all the way down to zero.
Braided jack wiring and copper cavity shield make this a very quiet guitar in most environments compared to non shielded.
I pretty much wire all strats like that. Simple, effective, useful mods that don't show.
Needed no fretwork, but I did roll the board edges and recornered and polished the frets.
Feels about as comfortable and broke-in as I can get it.
22 frets
25.5" scale
10" board radius.
1 11/16" nut width.
New 9's.
New Yamaha locking tuners.
Old tuner screw holes were doweled and are visible on back.
Small drill hole on back from truss cover screw. (oops)
OEM trem is new from Peavey as are the springs.
Bar is new Gotoh.
Includes non original HSC in excellent condition.
