The guitar pictured is the actual guitar you will receive!

At The Farm, we take actual pictures of each instrument and make sure they are fully set-up and ready to play before we ship them. Each instrument goes through a multi-point inspection, followed by a set-up process by our in-house tech staff. We then photograph each instrument with high-quality equipment in our on-site photography studio. We know that details like wood grain and color finishes can vary, so we want you to be able to see, to the best of our ability, exactly what you will be receiving.

This process takes over an hour for each instrument - from inspection to pictures. We care about the instrument we put into your hands! Rest assured your guitar was not just plucked off of a shelf and drop-shipped to you from a warehouse without care.

Just in from the vault!

This USA made 1966 Gibson Non-Reverse Firebird III came to us an original husk, that was lacking the tuners, electronics, and the original finish. After carefully reviewing what parts came with the husk and deciding what we needed to bring this machine back to life, we re-assembled this sweet piece and sent it off to the highly renowned Lay's Guitar shop in Akron, Ohio for a complete re-finish in a lightly relic'd Pelham Blue finish, which just screams Rock 'N' Roll.

Features include a Mahogany body with a set Mahogany neck that is topped with a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard and pearl dot inlays. The Gibson Vibrola is believed to be 100% original, but the pickguard and truss rod cover are new, straight from Gibson, the tuners are replacement Kluson brand that match the originals, the triple P-90's are new from Seymour Duncan.

Other new additions include one CTS pot (Tone) and the 5-way switch, for "Strat-style" wiring.  We do believe that the oil capacitor and the three Volume pots are original CBA/CTS pots. While some of the wiring does seem to be original, it does appear that a portion of the wiring harness has been changed out, albeit, seemingly, a long time ago.

The original serial number was located on the headstock and repressed by Lay's during the refinishing process, as well as the addition of a black headstock veneer to increase the overall aesthetic and strength of the headstock.

If you haven't tried to track down a period correct Non-Reverse Firebird hardshell case, let alone an original, they're just about impossible to find. So, as the late and great Chris Farley said in the cult-favorite movie "Airheads" we decided to "improvise" - we and found a Charvel hardshell case that fits the body well and doesn't offer too much slop in either direction and still allows you to have room north of the headstock for a strap, towel and any other goodies you may want to keep in there.

The light relic'd finish, with a few dings, was intended to mimic a guitar that has been well cared for, but shows signs of being played. There is no fret popping, there is a lot of fret life left, and the frets are smooth.

We have included a photo of the guitar before the refinish.

This is a used guitar and does show some signs of slight use, but has been fully tested and functions as expected. Please take a moment to review our pictures, as they accurately portray the true condition of this guitar.
