Joe Elliott began building his home studio in late 1988. Fed up with paying huge recording studio bills, he built a studio in his Dublin Ireland home. The studio was nicknamed 'Joe's Garage' after a Frank Zappa song and first used for Def Leppard's 'Adrenalize' album. Since it's completion in 1989, some or all of every Def Leppard album has been recorded or mixed at Joe's Garage. 

In 2001 Joe replaced his original mixing board with this DigiDesign Control 24 desk and matching Argosy console. Def Leppard recorded and mixed their albums 'X', 'Yeah!', 'Sparkle Lounge', 'Mirrorball' (mix & 3 new songs), 'Def Leppard' and 'Live From Detroit' all with this Control 24 desk. In addition, Joe used it to record two Ricky Warwick albums, the Thin Lizzy Remixes and several other projects. The board was retired in 2019.

The Argosy console could be retrofitted with a new controller and would be at home in the even most state of the art modern recording studio. The console can be dismantled for easier shipping and re-assembly instructions will be included.

The DigiDesign desk features 16 Focus Right pre-amps. It remains in working condition, however this model is no longer supported and would require a similar era version of Pro-Tools to be functional. The power to the moveable faders needs to be repaired (fairly simple). It's basically 24 year old technology that by today's standards is pretty outdated. Its greatest value lies in the pivotal role it's played in recording six Def Leppard albums over a span of 18 year span of the band's rich musical history. 

The patch bay seen to the right of the mixer is not included.
