Carl Johan Ferdinand Larson and his brother, Peter August Larson, were eminent Chicago luthiers during the first half of the 20th century. Together, the Larson Brothers built guitars under several brand names including Larson, Maurer, Prairie State, Euphonon, and Stahl. Sometimes a single guitar style would be marketed under several of the brands.
Carl and August Larson were natives of the Småland (“small land”) region of Sweden.
