When I bought this magnificent guitar in 2006 I called Richard Hoover, owner of Santa Cruz Guitars to find out the story behind this guitar. This was the 500th dreadnaught they ever made and he built this to celebrate the landmark. It was built in April 1990 from 100 year old growth Brazilian Rosewood and German spruce with wood he got from a recently deceased Luthier friend of his. Absolutely Master Grade. I sent it back to Santa Cruz to have it checked out, updated and a new saddle made. This is as good as it gets. Comes with Hard Shell Case. Richard told me it was never supposed to be sold and wanted to know how I got it. Sound and playability is superb.
