RED Microphones R12 Oktava Mk-012-01 Capsule BLUE

This is a Red Microphones R12 capsule. I believe Red was an offshoot of BLUE (Baltic Latvian Universal Equipment). BLUE started making “lollipop” capsules for the Neumann and Microtech Gefell CMV563 lollipop mics with interchangeable heads. Then Red introduced its own series of “bottle” mics using the same set of capsules or “heads” which is now the BLUE Bottle. If that’s not confusing enough, there’s also a Violet/JZ Microphones that’s related to BLUE and Red.
Anyway for a very short time Red made one head for Oktava MK-012 mics and their variants MK-012-01 and MC-012-01. This head is hard to come by! The actual capsule is one from the BLUE Bottle series I believe. It sounds great and pretty unique.
