The Artifakt Lo-fi Elements is the first pedal of its kind, a comprehensive collection of all the hazy, scratchy, wobbly, and broken tones that epitomize the term 'lo-fi'." Like a mega-delay or mega-reverb, Artifakt is a “one-stop shop” for all the most sought-after lo-fi effects including old vinyl replications, tape modulation and saturation, bit crushing, sample rate reduction, dark reverb and echo, filtering, compression, glitch, and more.

All-encompassing degradation, from analog warmth to digital glitching

With seven built-in modes, each with seven adjustable parameters, the Artifakts Lo-fi Elements places incredible lo-fi power at your fingertips. Source Audio recommends approaching this pedal as if it were a “mega-delay” or a “mega-reverb.” Start with attention to aspects that manipulate space and time, then shape distinct lo-fi textures as you tinker with the knobs. Crackle, modulation, saturation, drive, compression, bit crushing, sample reduction, filtering, random glitches, you never know what’s around the bend as you tweak and refine!

• Radio: cue up nostalgic crackle, frequency filtering, and warm static with the charm of a vintage radio
• Tape: wide-ranging effects based on vintage tape units. Sculpt slapback delay, chorus, doubling, saturation, and more with varying degrees of drive, flutter, pitch-based modulation, or compression
• Verb: rustic lo-fi space with lively echoes, inspired by 8-bit gaming systems
• Crush: bit-depth quantizing, sample rate reduction, and a resonant ladder filter that mangles signal into digital lo-fi textures
• Ladder: explore envelope and LFO modulation and shape dramatic or subtle filters
• Vinyl: all the crackle and pop you could ever want — tones range from contemporary new-press vinyl to old-school gramophone artifacts
• Glitch: manipulates random fragments with gurgling speed and pitch variations

Go further with presets, MIDI, and Neuro editing

The Artifakt Lo-fi Elements' I/O suite provides advanced command and control if desired. Stereo jacks offer greater signal routing options to facilitate lo-fi within a lush stereo field. MIDI users can utilize 3.5mm MIDI TRS In and Thru jacks to communicate with other gear, send commands, and recall presets.

Insatiable tone chasers can dive deeper using Source Audio's Neuro software editor. Neuro offers impressive stage-ready presets from the manufacturer's library, as well as peer-made presets crafted by Neuro users. Producers at Sweetwater have paired the Artifakt Lo-fi Elements with Neuro tools to deploy massive lo-fi production power with a small footprint. As another testament to its versatility, you can also use the Artifakt in the studio as a re-amping device and craft suites of presets for different instruments to speed up production.
