If you're viewing this listing, you probably already know about Alan Hamel's Telecaster Pickups. So, I won't go into details about who he is and why these are as rare as they are. I will say, the internet rumors are pretty accurate - These pickups are impossible to find, and they sound incredible.
I bought these from a friend with a vintage 50's telecaster, who bought two sets. One for his original, and another set to be used in his next 50's telecaster. Well, before he had a chance to buy another vintage Tele, I convinced him to sell this set to me to put into my custom shop telecaster (which was spec'd to be a clone of his original).
I'm selling this set because I decided to keep my custom shop telecaster all original after Josefina retired from the fender custom shop. I can provide more pictures upon request.
NOTE: The back of the neck pickup is marked with 7.0k, which is actually the resistance of the bridge pickup. to clarify the measurements:
The Bridge pickup measures
- 7.01 kΩ resistance
- 3.64 H inductance
The Neck pickup measures
- 5.787 kΩ resistance
- 1.21 H inductance
Also, the bridge conductors are the correct length for a standard telecaster control cavity install. The bridge conductor is pictured with a spliced on extension wire because I wire my control plate in the Bill Kirchen reversed style, which requires a bit more length than the original configuration. I will remove it for any buyer that does not want it on.
Thanks for looking!
