1979 and 1980 was the first generation PowerMark X. This example is from 1980. Much more rare than the PowerMarks that you see in advertising from 1980 to 1984. For years these were thought to be prototypes, but enough have popped up in the US and abroad (thanks to the Internet) that they are now referred to as "first generation." These first generation Powermarks were marketed as Yamaki overseas and Daion here in the United States.

Brass saddles and nut. Wood control covers over original Yamaki electronics. Guitar has been throughly cleaned and serviced. Cosmetically the top and sides are excellent. The back has buckle rash and some dings.

Ships in a NEW generic (non Daion branded) hard case.

NOTE: This item is marked as "Fair" rather than "Excellent" due to the head stock crack. We purchased this item out of Switzerland from musictrade(dot)ch. Even though they are a vintage guitar dealer, they did not pack the guitar well and it arrived damaged (and then proceeded to ghost us). Since we have never done a neck break repair, we thought it best not to make our first attempt on such a rare instrument. The top of the crack can be assessed by removing the brass nut. We've priced the guitar to allow you to take it to a luthier and have this addressed professionally.
