Ludwig & Ludwig 1932 - 14x6.5" No. 242. "Super Ludwig" Solid Walnut Shell Snare Drum, (Restored) 70's Throw-Off,

This 1930s 14x6.5" "Concert Theatre Model", solid single ply Walnut shell Super-Ludwig snare is excellent playing condition.

This snare was restored in 1992. The original "Super-Sensitive" throw off mechanism was replaced with a more modern Ludwig 1970s version adding individually adjustable wire and gut snare wires. The updated throw off fit all the holes from the original throw off. There are no extra holes.

Everything works smooth and solid. No issues. The shell is round and the edges smooth.

It delivers the articulate, dynamic, and warm sound you'd expect from a vintage solid ply snare. You can play crescendo buzz rolls like a champ! Great dynamic range!
