We are proud to introduce the “Kinman-style” Adjustable Treble Bleed Circuit.
What makes the “Kinman-style” different than our other Adjustable Treble Bleed circuits is that it features in-series circuitry. This helps with certain guitar setups that have issues with the volume sweep with the parallel circuitry of the Adjustable Treble Bleed circuits.
If you have been having issues with the volume sweep with the treble bleed circuit you currently have installed, you should try the “Kinman-style.”
The “Kinman-style” treble bleed circuit will help with retaining of high frequencies at lower volumes. The circuit will also provide a more even tone and better overall sound to a guitar.
The circuit includes a built-in adjustable trimmer for tuning the bleed circuit.
Easy installation by soldering hookup wires to the Input and Output pads on the board .
The Boffin FX treble bleed circuit has a peel-and-stick adhesive on the bottom for seamless installation.
This version is ideal for high output pickups both single coil and humbucker. Used for bridge pickups.
Key Benefits of the 1,592 Hz "Black" Circuit
- Maximum High-End Clarity: High-output pickups often have a "darker" sound due to their high winding count. The 1,592 Hz frequency is a higher cutoff point that ensures your tone stays tight and articulate even when your volume is rolled down to 2 or 3.
- Natural Volume Taper: Unlike simple capacitor-only bleeds that can make the volume drop feel sudden, this Kinman-style circuit uses a series-wired resistor and capacitor. This preserves a smooth, linear feel as you turn the pot.
- Cleans Up High-Gain Amps: This circuit allows you to transition from a heavy, saturated distortion to a crystalline clean tone just by using your volume knob, eliminating the need to step on a channel-switch pedal.
- Precision Tuning: Because it is adjustable, you can fine-tune the circuit to perfectly match the specific impedance of your pickups and the length of your guitar cable, ensuring consistent performance in any rig.
Is this the right choice for your guitar?
This version is the "brightest" of the Boffin FX treble bleeds. It is the top recommendation for modern metal players or anyone using pickups like the PRS Tremonti, Seymour Duncan JB, or DiMarzio Super Distortion. If you find your neck pickup gets too "woolly" or "muddy" when you turn down, this is the fix.
Selecting an Adjustable Treble Bleed Circuit:
Green - low output pickups both single coil and humbucker. Ideal for neck pickups.
Blue - Vintage humbuckers under 10k. Can be used for neck pickups.
Black - High output bridge pickups. Recommended for single coil Telecasters.
