I had a recording studio in Burbank CA and picked this mic up as a curio. It does work and you can play with the stereo/mono aspect of the unit but I think the fact that it is an RCA mic and it looks like a lunar lander makes it worth owning. If I was going to do any serious recording I would probably pick an AKG 414 rather than this microphone but you never know what some audio engineer might do. I worked at one studio where we took headphones and strapped them to a glass tube to get "Special Effects".
