Hofner 500/1 Beatle Bass - 1968, Made in Germany with Hofner authentication, Sunburst finish, Rosewood fingerboard with binding, maple neck, Pearloid control panel and pickguard, OSHC.Authentication: In November 2007 pictures and descriptions of this bass guitar were provided to the Hofner factory in Hagenau, Germany. Mr. Michael Naglav provided a written response that stated: “Thanks for the photos, your Hofner 500/1 was made in 1968. The 513 pickups are from 1967, also the pickguard is younger, and your bass has the enlarged switchboard from 1968."
Specs:· Double-bound, violin-shaped body in sunburst finish.·
Body Style: Semi-hollow body.·
Wood Composition: Maple body, Spruce top, Rosewood fingerboard.·
Design Elements: Bound body, glued-in neck, two pickups, dot inlays, three tone switches and two control knobs.·
Carved spruce top with nickel trapeze tailpiece & adjustable ebony bridge.·
Pearloid pickguard & control plate.·
Rounded maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Neck is straight.·
Beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays.
· Frets are in great shape normal wear.· Closed-back tuners are in good working condition.·
Hofner "blade" pickups with large black bezels.·
Dual volume controls with "tea cup" knobs. Rhythm/Solo, Bass & Treble switches·
