1990's Hofner V63 500/1 Violin Beatle Bass Sunburst

Hofner is a company that is doing right by their name, continuing to build instruments that live up the high standards of days gone by. Their vintage reissue basses of the last 20 or so years are spot on replicas that do not disappoint. This 90's V63 Reissue not only has the distinct sound and feel of a vintage piece, the darker sunburst is spot on for those of the early 60s. It's already seen quite a bit of action so that certainly helps give it even more vintage vibe too. You can't fake real world wear (although that doesn't stop people from trying!). As is quite common with these basses the neck needed to be professionally re-set to get the action right but now it's at the right angle. Plug it in and there's no mistaking the tone for anything else but a Hofner. They do have a surprisingly large amount of variation of sounds though, the dual volume knobs make it super easy to dial in the right amount of bottom end and the right amount of high end to sit right in the mix. The neck has a distinctly "medium" feel to it that should be comfortable to most players, not as big as some of the other reissues out there.
